Slaying Dragons
“But go and learn what this means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Matthew 9:13 Several years ago, two Bible college students; Mike Yankoski and Sam Purvis sought to put their faith in Christ to the test by living on the …
Pervasive Evil
“Abortion concerns not just the unborn child, it concerns every one of us. The English poet, John Donne, wrote: ‘any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.’ We cannot diminish the value of one category of human …
The Slaughter of Innocents
“The moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped.” – Hubert Humphrey
About
This blog is really all about one man’s journey and discovery about God and all things divine both through study, and experience. It is the greatness of God that truly fascinates me, because and I know, there is only One who could be said to be truly great in the universe. Though men fancy themselves as being great, either for their creativity, accomplishment, wealth, or fortuitous opportunity, all of our greatness in comparison to eternal God is nothing more than elementary scribbles in the sand. With men, were you to look close; if you take the time to lift the log, as it were, you’ll always find the bugs. We’d more than likely be stunned to discover the ugliness that was previously unknown to us. God is not this way. If you determine to scratch the surface of the transcendent God; digging deeper into who he is, one will never find a moment of disappointment. This does not mean that men cannot do good things or even great things, but strictly from a theological point-of-view man cannot innately possess greatness; he can only hope to touch it briefly with the slightest brush of an extended finger. Touching greatness is all we can ever hope to achieve in this life. And those moments of greatness are often missed because greatness; true greatness is often found in the oddest of places; in places, we never thought to look. If you are someone, longing to go deeper in your understanding of God and his Son Jesus Christ, join me on this journey of discovery and together let’s scribble in the sand for awhile!
